I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in 1981. I am the co-author, with Linda Lindroth, of the book Virtual Vintage: The Insider's Guide to Buying and Selling Fashion Online, Random House, 2002. I live in Florida with my family as well as several cats, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherd-mixes, squirrels, alligators, osprey, cranes, eagles, turtles, lizards, and a spotted white Pit Bull terrier named Winston.

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate.
